Bailey Out For NE Title Game
The Beverly Pop Warner B-Team suffered a key injury while knocking off Yarmouth-Dennis in the New England semifinals Sunday in Braintree.  Pat Bailey, enjoying a terrific season for the Bad Dawgs, pulled his right hamstring trying to make a cut while carrying the ball early in Beverly's 18-6 victory.  Patrick's physical therapist has indicated that Pat cannot play in Friday's New England Championship game vs. Seymour Connecticut.  The therapist currently has Pat doing exercises and stretches in hopes that the hamstring will be OK if the Dawgs advance to the Nationals in Florida on December 4th and 7th.
If any team has the depth to withstand the loss of a kid as talented as Pat, it is the 2001 B-Dawgs.  While Pat is invaluable playing halfback, cornerback, and returning kicks, Coach Nardella has a plethora of equally capable players who should be able to step up in Friday's title game.  Pat mentioned Jared Kusiak, the club's kicker, who has enjoyed an outstanding year, and David Jones, who was superb in Sunday's semifinal win.
