  "D" Leads Dawgs Into Final

The Beverly Pop Warner B-Team advanced to Saturday's State Championship Game by defeating Marlboro Wednesday night, 14-0.  Pat Bailey scored the first touchdown after Marlboro fumbled the opening kickoff.  J Michael Nardella scored in the second quarter, and the defense did the rest as Marlboro failed to cross the 50-yard line against a tenacious and relentless Beverly "D."
Nathan Verry, Jeff Jones and Jake MacNeill were among the Beverly defenders who made life miserable for the Raiders at a windy and chilly Hormel Stadium.  The closest Marlboro came to even mounting a scoring chance came when they recovered an onside kick to open the second half.

J Michael Nardella could not quite keep his feet in
bounds while making this fine reception of a
gorgeous Jason Fullerton pass.  The Bad Dawgs
defeated Marlboro 14-0 in the State Semifinal
matchup, and now play for the Massachusetts
Championship on Saturday in Lawrence vs.
  the South County Indians.
