Dawgs Overpower Swampscott
After a tough week at practice to get ready for the "big blue", the captains go out for the coin toss. Beverly wins, and chose to receive. Pat Bailey receives the kick and starts the game off very well. He runs 85 yards for the TD. Jared Kusiak makes the extra point. The defense stuffs Swampscott their first drive. With Jason Fullerton out, Andrew Frates gets the start. Beverly has a good drive. Andrew throws a pop pass to Dylan Kline and a nice stretch by Dylan sets up a QB sneak by Frates to end the drive. Jared Kusiak makes the extra point once again. This season Jared has been 5 for 6 on field goals. On that drive there was great blocking by Sam Rinaldo, Andrew Belmonte, Matt Provencher and Nathan Verry. Beverly's D stuffs Swampscott again. Bev's "White Knights" go out there now run by Jared Kusiak. Jared and his offense have a beautiful drive down the field. Jared hands the ball of to David Jones and David runs in for a 30 yard TD. Jared does not try and go for 2 but they get stopped. Bev's D stuffs Swampscott once again. the "white knights" go in again but Jared needs a rest, so Andrew goes in as QB. They run it right threw Swampscott and Jeff Jones gets the 20 yard TD and that is the end of the half. At the Half the score is Bev 28-Swampscott 0. Swampscott gets the ball at half and Bev stuffs them again. Swampscott is forced to punt. Pat Bailey is back to return the punt. He runs for 75 yards this time for the TD. But unfortunately someone lined up offside. So Pat's TD didn't count. But it was a great run anyway. Late 3rd quarter Swampscott gets the ball and scores on a great 25 yard pass. Both teams played a great game. Bev is still undefeated. But the next game will be Beverly's toughest task of all against Peabody at home at 12.
