C Team Wins, But Kusiak Lost For Year

The Beverly C Team returned home for the first time in 5 weeks to bright skies and cheering fans and walked away with their heads high as the "DOG POUND DEFENSE" took a big bite out of a scrappy Triton club and a step closer to the playoffs. Once again the "D" came up huge shutting out Triton 20-0. "We paid a high price for this win " said Head Coach Nardella. "Jared Kusiak
broke his right arm and looks to be lost for the balance of the season. Kuz has played great for us all year and is a team leader he will be missed."
Beverly for the sixth week in a row won the coin toss and on the first play from scrimmage Kus went off tackle for 50 yards and a quick 6. Jason Fullerton hit Matt McAniff for his first catch of the year and the extra point. Beverly's D was playing one of their hardest hitting games of the season stopping Triton in their tracks forcing them to punt. JP Kehoe (call me TD Kehoe) went 60 yards
and six more. As nice as JP's run was the fans are still buzzing about "The Block." It appeared that a Triton defender had JP lined up when J  Michael Nardella line him up and sent him flying clearing the path for JP. The Triton player had to be helped from the field
still wondering what truck hit him.( he  was alright but took the rest of the day off) JP said" I never saw J's block but I did hear it and I knew J hit some one."  Coach Richardson special teams where hitting everything in sight, "J's hit sparked the team and lifted the level of play by everyone."
The D was still the story stopping everything that Triton came up with. Late in the first half Sean Mitchell knocked down a long pass to end a Triton drive. Dlyan (not around my end )Kline played his best game on D. "Just when you think he can't play it any better he does! Dylan is a big strong kid but his biggest asset is he plays smart he knows what to do at all times out there" said coach and uncle Nardella. Dylan however was not the only one out there Nathan (big dog) Verry had another strong game make several big hits. Triple J, Andrew Belmonte, Pat Bailey, Fullerton and Nardella all had strong games on "D"
The Triton D was tough causing the Beverly O to struggle at times. Both Quarterbacks (Fullerton and Andrew Frates ) played well moving their teams and keeping Triton off balance. "Ben Lawler had a big block on Kuz's run" said coach McNeil. "It's nice to see that the hard work is paying off the team" he said.
The last score of the day came when TD Kehoe took another punt 50 yards and six more behind blocks by Verry, Fullerton and Nardella. "TD Kehoe has a nose for the end zone" said coach" and he wants the ball when it counts" I'm a very lucky coach to have
the talent I have and the fact that they are good young men." The extra point was ugly Beverly jumped offside making it a very long extra point. Frates threw the ball where only Dlyan could catch it. Dylan had three guys on him, he juggled the ball and stretched for the line carry a Triton player with him to end the days scoring.
